After crashing her vehicle into the underpass of Georgia loop 10 on College Station Road in Athens, a drunken driver now faces serious charges after one of her passengers had to be rushed to the intensive care unit at Athens Regional Medical Center. Sarah Catherine Madsen, has been charged with DUI, underage consumption, failure to maintain lane, and serious injury by a motor vehicle. According to Athens authorities, this is the second DUI Madison has received along with a number of other arrests in the last two years. In January of this year she was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. It is apparent this young woman has no regard for her own safety much less that of the public at large.

In a note on her Facebook profile posted Friday regarding the accident,

Madsen wrote this was her sixth arrest and second DUI.

In situations like this, those injured in this DUI accident should seek to hold her accountable for her wanton and willful actions in causing them serious bodily injury. Maybe a substantial verdict against her will make her realize her reckless behaviors are not funny and that she should think twice before putting others lives in danger by drinking and driving. One thing is clear, something needs to done in order to get the girls attention-if not she could likely kill someone the next time.
