Federal prosecutors are expected to appeal a number of rulings in favor of W.R. Grace & Co., a large Columbia chemical maker, who is alleged to have violated the Clean Air Act and knowingly poisoning former workers and other residents of Montana with asbestos related products. Many maintain that asbestos fibers were scattered about the town and as a result hundreds of residents have suffered lung abnormalities and other health related problems. Many of these residents have pending mesothelioma claims related to asbestos exposure pending against W.R. Grace & Co.
