The nationwide pet food recall has now been linked to an ingredient often used as Rat Poison according to agriculture officials. The voluntary recall issued by Menu Foods, a Canadian based company and manufacturer, has been a hot topic of controversy in the last week or so after causing the death of hundreds, if not thousands, of pets all over the United States. The FDA is still investigating this pet food contamination outbreak to try and determine the real reason and source of its occurrence. At this point, the FDA believes the chemical identified as aminopterin, is to blame for the injuries and deaths of some many dogs and cats. As more information is uncovered, it will be discussed here so stay tuned.
