This month is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Trans World News says this is a time where “Americans have the opportunity to do their part to increase lung-related cancers, including mesothelioma…”
Mesothelioma is a type of lung cancer caused from exposure to asbestos. See our past post on Exposure to Asbestos—What Results?
Doctors have a difficult time diagnosing a patient with mesothelioma. There are about 14 cases per million people per year. Mesothelioma is directly associated with occupational and environmental exposure to asbestos—most commonly in shipbuilding facilities or asbestos product plants. It is more common in men who are 60 years old but women and children have been diagnosed with mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma is a deadly disease. Because it is lung cancer awareness month, we need to help make people more aware of this serious disease. If you or someone close to you has been diagnosed with Mesothelioma, you may want to contact the attorneys at Childers, Buck, and Schlueter to see how they can help protect your legal rights.
