Last week the Lovett School volleyball team was in a bus accident in Florida while traveling to a camp at the University of Florida. The 17 players and two coaches that were aboard the bus reportedly only suffered minor injuries. The accident occurred on I-75 near Lake City, Florida, which is only about 45 miles from the team’s destination. The driver, who has been charged with careless driving, apparently lost control of the bus, while trying to steer it off the far right shoulder, which caused the bus to spin counterclockwise, landing on its side and sliding for about 50 feet before coming to a stop.
