A Gwinnett family was looking to buy a home in the area and decided to tour one that caught their eye located at 848 Fieldstream Way in Lawrenceville. According to officials, when the family went out to examine the deck, it collapsed causing injuries to all four family members. Three of the family members were taken to the Gwinnett Medical Center and the other was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. At this time there is still no word on the extent of their injuries or what caused the deck to collapse. Depending on the findings of the pending investigation, the family members involved may have a claim against the homeowner for failure to warn about the dangerous deck and for negligence among various others. The injuries should be covered under the homeowners’ insurance policy.
