This past Friday night a woman died in a head-on collision right in Lithia Springs, Georgia, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Virginia Mitchell was 69 years old and from Lithia Springs, Georgia.

It was reported that she was traveling west on Anneewakee Road in the evening around 7:20 p.m. when her car was tragically struck by a pickup truck. His truck, according to Lieutenant Paul Cosper, public information officer with the Georgia State Patrol, crossed the center line.

According to Cosper, alcohol was not a factor. A Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is now investigating this accident.

This is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts are with the family of Virginia Mitchell’s.

Please remember to be safe this holiday season. If you are going to celebrate, remember to not drink and drive or bring along a designated sober driver.

The roads will definitely be congested as everyone travels around the US to see and be with family and friends. The safety of you and other drivers around you is important, so make sure you drive safe!
