If you have ever driven in and around Atlanta, Georgia it will probably come as no surprise to you that an auto accident occurs every 2.8 minutes in our great State. Knowing which intersections to avoid however might help you from being in the next one. In a recent article published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Cobb County was noted to have the highest number of dangerous intersections in the Atlanta region which may come as a bit of a surprise given Fulton County historically has the highest number of total accidents per year.

According to the AJC.com:

The worst intersection is Austell Road at the East-West Connector, with 477 crashes over the three years. That’s an average worse than one every three days; 110 of those produced injuries, far more than any other intersection.

Across the region, quitting time is the start of crash hour: more accidents happened between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. than any other time of day. The age group responsible for the most accidents is people aged 25 to 34; they account for 25 percent of the accidents. People 65 to 74 account for 3 percent.

In a current blog on the same site, fellow Georgians give their opinions on other intersections that are very dangerous in and around the Atlanta area.
