Right after Christmas, four cheerleaders from Hauser High School were involved in a car accident while in route to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The cheerleaders were selected to perform at the New Year’s Day game but did not make it after another car swerved into their path causing the van they were riding in to tip over onto its side. The van slid some 75 feet off the roadway before slamming into a nearby tree. The driver of the van was rushed from the I-75 north Georgia accident scene to the hospital where she had to undergo surgery later that same night. The other cheerleaders suffered minor injuries.
