James Grandey, the 29-year-old coach of the Bluffton University baseball team, is now reported to be in fair condition after his involvement in the fatal Atlanta bus crash that left 6 others dead and dozens injured. Grandey has been at Piedmont Hospital since early Friday morning on March 2, 2007 when the horrific and tragic bus accident occurred at the Northside exit on I-75. Grandey underwent surgery following the accident to repair facial injuries he sustained. No timetable has been scheduled for his release at this time, but he said to be doing much better at this point.
The fatal bus accident occurred when the driver of the coach bus mistakenly took the exit ramp thinking it was continuation of the HOV lane on Georgia’s I-75. An investigation of the accident is still underway by numerous state and federal agencies.
