Jay and Laura Flynn recently filed a $111 Million suit against Home Depot and the manufacture of a defective grout-sealing product the mega home retailer sold them in July of 2005. According to the complaint, the product’s fumes permanently damaged his lungs and dramatically affected every facet of his daily life.
According to the AJC.com
Flynn’s breathing difficulties have caused him to quit his job as a product manager and stop coaching his son’s baseball team. And it has destroyed his “once active” love life, Flynn says. The couple is suing for $111 million — $100 million for punitive damages, $10 million for injuries and $1 million is earmarked for their listless love life.
Flynn isn’t the only one alleging injuries from the product called Tile Perfect Stand’N Seal Grout Sealer.
About 300,000 cans were recalled in August 2005 after 88 people complained of respiratory injuries, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Of those, 28 had to be rushed to hospitals.
