Child Hit by Car in Georgia

A six year old boy is now in serious condition after being hit by a car in Northwest Atlanta, Georgia, according to AJC.

On Saturday around 5:30 p.m., a man was driving a 1986 Ford LTD Westbound on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway when the child “darted into traffic.”

Apparently, the driver did hit his breaks, but he was unable to avoid the child.

The names of either the child or the driver have not been released.

The child was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.  According to police, the child was in critical condition and was later upgraded to serious condition.

Atlanta Police Department spokesman Officer James Polite said that charges are not going to be filed against the driver.  He said, “We believe it was just a terrible accident.”
