Prompted by anticipated legal action from the crash victims, the State of Georgia has now decided to start its own investigation in the fatal bus accident that left 6 people dead and many others seriously wounded. Initially, the Georgia Department of Transportation stated that it was not going to take any corrective action or make any changes to the Northside Drive exit on I-75 until the federal government concluded its investigation. Now the State has hired Lowe Engineering to use its state of the art equipment in recreating the fatal bus accident scene to determine if any preemptive actions need to be taken by the State in order to avoid such tragic situations in the future. The results of the investigation are still pending at this time but are expected to be released to the public in the near future.
