DUI driver, Jesus Trevino, caused a big power outage Wednesday night in Gainesville after he slammed his vehicle into a power pole near Gordon Avenue and Parker Street. The DUI accident occurred 10:15 p.m. after Trevino lost control of his vehicle. According to officials, power in a three block area was out until 12:30 or so. Fortunately no one else was involved in the DUI accident but it was noted that property damage resulted from the impact. Trevino now faces DUI and reckless driving charges for his wanton and careless actions of driving while impaired.

There is absolutely no sense for accidents like this to occur. Trevino is very lucky he only hit a power pole and not a person. If he had, he would be faces felony charges of vehicular homicide which almost always result in serious prison time.
