Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (Ten) are commonly associated with an accute drug reaction. Bextra is known to be a risk factor. Despite the drug having been pulled from the market, many patients or representatives of the patients have sought legal help in prosecuting legal claims.
The likely delay of many to understand the causal link and ability to make a claim is the failure of the patient to be educated as to the association with the disease to the use of Bextra. A greater awareness has deveolped in recent months given that many lawyers that concentrate their practice in product liability litigation have been filing suits and claims against Pfizer for the development of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) with the use of Bextra. Victims are encouraged to become educated about the disease and association to drugs such as Bextra and join support groups such as the SJS Support Organization that may be found at http://www.sjsupport.org/index.shtml
